Saturday sees the Cheshire Cricket League complete the final round of fixtures in this years adapted league format. The 1st XI make the short hop over to Saughall CC to draw the curtains on our league campaign.
For the first time this season, we name an unchanged team from the previous Saturday.
The full squad is as follows: Garrett (c), Barnes (wk), Poulston, Draycott, Lea, Jones, Leigh, Rusbridge-Burns, Sawley, Davidson & Wilson
The 1st XI lay eighth in the table after last week's loss, with Saughall just 14 points below in 9th. We will of course be looking for a strong performance and the full 25 points to spring us back up in to 7th place for the final standings.
Saughall have had a strong season and have produced some excellent results. Their strength with the bat has seen them amass some good totals over the season, hitting 192 against Frodsham two weeks ago and 164 against Chester CO last time out. James Huxley has made hay with the bat, amassing 221 in the shortened campaign. Just outscoring his team mate Chan Singh with 218. The wickets have been shared by Iqbal and Chan Singh with 9 a piece.
The weather looks to be a whole ten degrees colder than last weekend, but Saturday is due to be clear, so here's hoping that the final game goes off without a hitch.
Thanks again for your support of all the teams here at Irby CC this season.
Stay safe and...
See you on the boundaries edge...
