Irby Valkyries storm their way to 2nd place victory and land themselves in the indoor league finals on Sunday 17th March  Down with the old and in with the new, it was finally time to replace the old changing facilities on the back with a new fresh building.
Exciting news as we launch a crowdfund project to hopefully fund the purchase of a roll-on net for the outfield.  After a successful year last year of social events, Irby CC aim to kick off 2024 in style with a Quiz night on Friday the 31st of March. It may seem like a way away at the start of February, but these events are popular! The long awaited and slightly delayed AGM arrived this week. With a great turnout of members it was on Chairman Paul Smith to discuss matters arising from the 2023 season and look forward to the plans for 2024. Have a read below to find out the appointments of new captains and committee members for this year.   Irby CC are pleased to be bringing back our free U9 training sessions at Bebington High School after last years success. They will be starting at 6pm until 7pm for four weeks beginning the 1st of March 2024.
Is your child up for a new and exciting sporting opportunity? Do you think they would like to be involved? Members old and new are also welcome. If you're an adult and you wish to be involved in some cricket this year, we are also recruiting players experienced or brand new. Please find our contact page or pop down to training. We're running sessions for adults 6-8pm every Tuesday in January, then 7-8pm February-March at Birkenhead Park C.C. Our third season of the Irby CC Indoor league reaches it final month before the grand finals. One team have secured their place, now all eyes rest on the Originals and their campaign.  The 2023 AGM will take place on Thursday 25th January at 7.30pm in the clubhouse. The slight delay in this has been due to unforeseen accounting and auditing reasons. Full notice and agenda will be sent 2 weeks prior in the New Year.
As ever, I make a plea for as many members to attend as possible and for those looking to make a contribution to put themselves forward for roles and management committee. We need help specifically with a Membership Secretary role and a Sponsorship role. Also, if anyone would like to be considered for any of the 2024 skipper roles then now is the time to say. If anyone is interested in getting more involved or if you want anymore information then speak to the Club Sec – Nathan Wilkes who will be happy to help. We’ll be announcing some plans we are putting in place for next season from a facilities and playing perspective, so I look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible. In the meantime I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. |
