Welcome Smit Mehta to Irby CC for the 2023 season

​Irby CC are delighted to announce the signing of Smit Mehta as our overseas player for the 2023 season.

Smit originates from India but has now settled in Australia. The all-rounder is a genuine all-rounder, being a right handed top order batter and front line off spinner. He has played in Queensland Premier Cricket for the famous South Brisbane Cricket Club, in recent years, playing alongside and against many Queensland & Aussie players. The allrounder has been playing a combination of 1st and 2nd Grade cricket.

Smit has plenty of UK playing experience having played for Dinting Cricket Club in the Derbyshire and Cheshire Cricket League in both 2019 and 2022. Over his 2 year stint he racked up over 1000 runs at a touch under 30 and taking 87 wickets at 12 including being the leading wicket taker in the league in 2019.
